Prolific railfan photographer Roger Puta caught the Illinois Central’s Hawkeye at Central Station in Chicago on April 4th, 1971. Less than a month before Amtrak took over the nation’s passenger trains. Roger died way too young in 1990. His friends continue to go through Roger’s many thousands of photos.
